Twitter is Officially Cool

by Dave on March 2, 2009

Twitter has officially become cool. While this might be good news for most people, this is certainly not good news for geeks. It’s the Geek Way to stay on the bleeding edge of technology, to sit there in the corner grinning as cool kids ask “What are you typing, dork?”  It’s what we do, what sets us apart from the rest of society. But on this grim day of March 2, 2009 Twitter has officially become mainstream and now us geeks need to find something else to do with our boring lives.

For instance, a few of the top 100 Twitterers are Barack Obama, Brittany Spears, Al Gore, Lance Armstrong and his evilness, Darth Vader. With so many people and Sith Lords using Twitter, it has been wretched from the hands of nerds all over the world, leaving us cold and isolated from each other. In fact, this could spell the very end of Geeks. Imagine a world of half-cool, half-geek hybrids. Twitter has blurred the lines between cool and geek and it could be catastrophic for civilization if someone doesn’t set this right, immediately.

BTW, be sure to follow PCTechBytes on Twitter.
