Can Seinfeld Save Microsoft’s Image?

Seinfeld. I mean c’mon, what’s up with this Seinfeld thing with Microsoft? Whaddayamean? Okay, it’s impossible to make a post sound like and old Seinfeld skit, but that’s what I was trying to do. Anyway, as most of us already know, Jerry Seinfeld is working with Bill Gates in some new Microsoft commercials to thwart the highly successful Apple commercials. The new “Windows, Not Walls” campaign has Seinfeld with the ex-Microsoft leader and now humanitarian, Bill gates in commercials that will attempt to improve the Windows image. Although I have yet to actually see a Windows computer, I suppose Gate’s himself is so recognizable that we don’t need to see the advantages of running Vista over a MAC. Interesting, though.

So will this 300 million dollar campaign work? Well, everyone has to like Seinfeld and Bill Gates is a great philanthropist. Whether it works or not, at least Microsoft is finally responding to the Apple ads that have converted a lot of Windows users in recent months.

  1. meh it just seems like they have gone away from ads that tell us about the OS and the specs and have just resorted to shameful and petty celebrity skits that don’t inform the buyer about anything and yes apple is guilty of this very same thing. the only corporation that hasn’t done this is Novell and i believe Red Hat but then again those companies aren’t well know for the OSes they make at least as the general public is concerned
