Father’s Day Gift Ideas For Dad

Father’s day is coming up. In fact it’s looming. So instead of scrambling to buy a new tie or some other cheesy gift, why not shock Dad this year and buy him something he actually wants and can use?

With Dad in mind, we have chosen some of our favorite products and gadgets. Keep in mind, though, that these gifts are good for anyone who like technology.

Netflix Account
This is an easy one. If your Dad like movies, gift him a subscription to Netflix. He can login and pick movies. If he has a Blu-Ray player, he can have Blu-Ray titles shipped automatically if that movie is out in that format. A year of Netflix movies can be as low as $108.00 depending on the amount of movies taken at a time.

Digital Picture Frame
These have been around for a while. There is a secret that most people don’t know about Dads: They love pictures. But they do not like the clutter of numerous frames. So get your Dad a digital picture frame as a gift this year and load it up with pictures of you, the dog and some of his favorite things.

Universal Remote
Now these are neat. Universal Remotes–and we’re not talking about those plastic things at KMart–are a must have if your Dad has multiple components in his entertainment center. Some of these are programed  via the Internet. Buy one of these and put the other six remotes in the drawer where they belong.

GPS (Global Positioning System)
GPS devices are in cars, cell phones and even iPods these days, but there is a good chance your Dad doesn’t have one yet. And the really good news is these have come down in price over the past couple of years. If you dad likes to travel, a GPS is a great gift idea.

Flip Video Camera
The Flip Video camera is a great “grab and go” video camera that Dad can take with him on the boat or on the golf course. It has a USB arm that unfolds and connects directly to the computer and uploads the video the the PC in a couple easy steps.

Blue Ant Hands Free Device
If Dad is driving in his car without a hands-free device, then the Blue Ant is a great choice. This affordable and easy to setup Blue Tooth hands free system easily syncs with Dad’s Blue Tooth cell phone and even supports voice commands (as long as his phone does).

Whatever tech gift you buy Dad this year, we’re sure he’ll enjoy it. A lot of new technology has emerged in the past couple of years and old products are getting cheaper and are improving everyday.
